Curiosity is probably the main force for me to make my next painting. How will one experience the painting if it is the same size but a bluish black instead of red?
The paintings are usually built up by one or two colors in several layers as a ground. For the following 8-14 layers I use translucent paint and a thin brush. The traces of the brush strokes emphasize the identity of the paintings as painted paintings. Each stroke is running horizontally over the whole painting from left to right and from right to left. The different shades are also different in glossiness and matteness. It gives an uneven layer of paint (strokes), reflecting the small difference of color-shades and light, and hence, gives life to the painted part. Because of this complexity a painting will change very much in different light and also seen from different angles.
